Dairy Records Management Systems (DRMS), based in Raleigh, NC, provides dairy management information to dairy farmers in 45 states. DRMS is the largest volume dairy data processing center in the United Sates. They manage dairy production reports on over 16 thousand herds, and more than 2.2 million cows generating over 400,000 pages of printing every month.

Roger Johnson of DRMS was dissatisfied with the reliability and quality of the printed reports produced on his previous production printers. In addition, these printers were noisy, generated a great deal of heat, and were constantly breaking down.

Milner Document Products introduced Roger and his team to HP CM8050 Color Multifunction Printers with Edgeline technology. Unreliable Equipment and Inability to Print Quality Full Color ReportsThousands of farmers across the United States rely on DRMS to provide them with dairy management reports each month. These reports vary in length and paper size. DRMS’ production printers were just not getting the job done in a timely fashion. Constant breakdowns were jeopardizing DRMS’ operations. In addition, the reports needed to show full color graphs to depict management needs for the farmers. DRMS’ current production printers did not have full color capabilities.

DRMS’ printers were unable to handle different paper sizes within the same report. These types of reports were time consuming to print and assemble manually. Special reports that Roger occasionally needed to produce requiring heavier card stocks could not be handled inhouse, resulting in having to use outside print shops at an excessive cost.
